Company background
Almos Technologies was founded by Steve Rakoczy and Steven McGuinness in 1994, as the manufacturing arm of Almos Systems
a high tech company founded by them in 1988.
By 2005 Almos Systems had become a well known brand in weather monitoring, as exclusive supplier of Automatic Weather Stations to the National Weather Service in:
The company had developed its own range of advanced electronics and software products. Its weather monitoring products were installed at some of the largest airports in the world in Amsterdam, Brussels and Sydney.
With ISO9001 certified manufacturing and development centers in Australia and Europe, and over 20 representative offices worldwide, Almos Systems became a major supplier of meteorological solutions throughout the globe.
In 2003 Almos Systems won the prestigious CY O'Connor Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technology Award and made it to the list of Business Review Weekly Fast 100
, as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in Australia, and to the Deloitte Touche Fast 500 Asia Pacific.
In 2005 the founders sold the company to Telvent, a multi-national company listed on NASDAQ.
After the sale of Almos Systems in 2005 Almos Technologies moved into developing new products for the marine and hospitality industries.
